On 12/8-19, 2025 : YASA members organized an event to collect used soccer gear (including cleats, old jerseys, running shoes, shin guards, etc.) and donated to kids from families with financial needs that live in rural areas of Argentina. Many equipment have been collected during this event and will be sent to Argentina to support those kids in need.
Fundraising to Support NJ Local Chinese School Sports Programs (Sep–Nov 2025): YASA members worked together to organize a successful fundraising campaign supporting Huaxia Chinese School’s soccer and sports programs. Thanks to everyone’s effort, YASA was able to make a meaningful donation that will help the school continue offering fun, active classes for local families and strengthen a wonderful community partnership that promotes health, teamwork, and cultural connection.
Experience Sharing Zoom Meeting on the College Soccer Recruitment Process (Aug, 2024): YASA members hosted an experience sharing meeting and welcomed kids of all ages from across the region, along with their families. Successful college students shared how soccer has shaped their lives in personal growth, leadership, resilience, and described their exciting journeys through the university recruiting process—balancing both academic and athletic excellence. By highlighting these inspiring stories, the YASA team provided valuable insights, experience, guidance, and encouragement to the community. The event was highly appreciated by both young players and parents, who found it beneficial for navigating their own paths in soccer and beyond.
Assistant Coach at Huaxia Chinese School Soccer Class (Sept 2023-Present): YASA member volunteers as an assistant coach to teach soccer at Huaxia Chinese School in Bergen County, NJ, leading weekly sessions year round for more than 60 elementary school students (ages 6–10). Helped young players develop fundamental soccer skills including footwork, positioning, and spatial awareness, emphasized teamwork, communication and game understanding through structured drills and small-sided games. The member also served as a mentor, fostering discipline and perseverance for soccer in each child. This commitment not only strengthened the local youth soccer community but also gave YASA member the opportunity to grow as a leader, learning the value of patience, responsibility, and giving back to community through service.
Assistant soccer coaches at the Asian Sports Summer Camp (July 2023-present): YASA member volunteered as assistant soccer coach at the Asian Sports Summer Camp, working with kids ages 10–13 during two-hour daily training sessions. The program focused on enhancing technical skills such as ball control, passing, dribbling, and finishing, while also improving physical aspects including endurance, speed, and agility. In addition, participants gained valuable insights into tactical awareness—learning how to read the game both in and out of possession. The sessions created an engaging and supportive environment where players and coaches not only enjoyed training together but also connected afterwards through meaningful conversations and networking.
Free Soccer education and training to youth (July, 2023): YASA members held their first free in-person training session in Westfield, NJ, welcoming local youth for an engaging introduction to the fundamental soccer knowledge and skills. The event marked a strong and promising start to YASA’s mission of supporting youth development through soccer.
